About Maryam
Maryam Salk is a self-taught painter based in Southern California. She was raised in Dubai and studied Fine Art at the American University of Paris prior to completing a degree in Interior Design at FIDM in Los Angeles.
Painting from an early age, she started embracing her synesthesia to create artwork that explores the feeling of a sound and a moment, focusing on the unseen rather than the seen. Her love of water and the ocean interweaves itself in her process and her work, with saturated hues and softness of form being recurring themes in her pieces.
